The ripples lead the eye to the the tall spire called theTotem Pole in Monument Valley. The tracks in the sand are from deer; there are now very few in the park because of the many years of drought. This shot was taken in the spring just as the sun rose above the horizon. In order to reach this restricted area, you must hire a Navajo guide and meet him an hour before sunrise at the visitor center and then travel by jeep over rough roads.
