Beams in the slot canyons may appear anywhere and at anytime. Each beam has it's season and time of day. Native guides will help you be at the correct spot at the right time. To expose a beam, you must first position your camera and then toss sand into the beam’s path. Multiple exposures will help insure an image that shows detail in the surrounding area as well as the beam itself. It is almost impossible to get detail in the area where the light strikes a surface. This image would be great for a light box.
